Partner Winston Alburquenque presents on desalination closure regulations to ACADES members

VGC Abogados hosted members of the Chilean Desalination and Reuse Association (ACADES) for a working session. The event featured a presentation by our partner, Winston Alburquenque Troncoso, on the regulation governing closure measures at the end of a desalination concession or allocation. He addressed key regulatory gaps and areas needing further definition, including measures for closing and decommissioning desalination plant facilities, provisions for temporary service continuity in projects supplying water for human consumption or sanitation, and the guarantee to the State to ensure compliance with these obligations.

We thank ACADES members and participants who enriched the session with their insights, showing a community committed to Chile’s water security and sustainable development of new water sources.
