I have extensive experience advising private and public sector clients on a broad range of environmental issues, from regulatory compliance and environmental risk management to environmental impact assessments and dispute resolution. Throughout my professional journey I have acquired deep knowledge about the intersection between environmental law and business strategy, which has allowed me to provide practical and innovative solutions to complex challenges. My experience and deep knowledge of the environmental area have been enriched by my former position as Director of the National Environmental Commission of Chile (CONAMA), where I played a prominent role in shaping Chile’s environmental policies and regulations. I established the Environmental Law course at the Faculty of Law of Universidad de Chile, where I have been a professor for 30 years. I have been consistently ranked by Chambers and Partners as a Band 1 lawyer in Environmental Law. I have been highly valued in The Legal 500 and Best Lawyers for my outstanding work in environmental law, recognizing my participation in major infrastructure, mining and energy projects in Chile. I am a member of ICARE (Chilean Institute of Rational Business Administration), the Chilean Bar Association and the Chilean Environmental Law Association. I frequently speak at conferences at universities throughout the country and am the author of numerous publications on environmental law. At VGC Abogados, I lead the Projects team along with the ESG and Corporate Sustainability team.
